About Jake Welch
Jake Welch is a partner at ValueAct Capital, a San Francisco-based investment company that manages finances on behalf of several institutional and individual investors. He is also a director of Armstrong Flooring, Inc. as a member of the Compensation and Finance Committees. Jake graduated cum laude with a degree in economics from Harvard University. He is also a CFA charterholder – a professional credential bestowed by the CFA Institute on financial and investment professionals who have completed its program of study, passed all three levels of its examinations, and met other professional requirements.
ValueAct Capital is a privately owned hedge fund sponsor that provides its services to high net worth individuals and institutions. It invests in both the public equity and hedging markets. Before ValueAct Capital, Jake Welch worked as a Private Equity Analyst at the Blackstone Group in New York City – the largest alternative investment firm in the world and it specializes in private equity and credit and hedge fund investment strategies.
Outside of his professional career, Jake Welch enjoys spending time with his family and playing and watching tennis as an avid fan of the sport. He and his wife are also involved in multiple philanthropic organizations in their community. Jake is passionate about providing insight and expertise to businesses, as well.
